About Us

PROSOL Limited is a New Zealand owned company, which has been trading since 1999.

We represent a range of internationally renowned agencies, and have forged a niche market in the field of ultrasonic flow-metering for irrigation and industrial applications.

In late 2005, after determining the need for an alternative flow-meter in the rapidly growing irrigation market, PROSOL worked with an international manufacturing company to develop a meter with some unique features for the New Zealand market. By the start of 2010, after marketing this meter to Councils, commercial operators and end users, we had sold over 400 meters within the New Zealand market.

December 2007 saw further expansion of the PROSOL business with the purchase of another local business: AXIOM Data-logging Systems. This has enabled PROSOL to expand into the growing data-logging market, with some excellent agencies acquired.

The PROSOL team is made up of four full time staff.

The company is owned and managed by Mike Saunders, who has a degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering from Auckland University. His extensive experience includes working in various valving and instrumentation companies.

In 1999 Mike took the opportunity to utilise his experience and training and started his own company, working with several international agencies. Although he considers himself a New Zealander, Mike was born in the UK, emigrating to New Zealand when he was four years old.

Paul Abbey joined the company in 2004, bringing his valuable experience in the pneumatics and valving industry. In addition to working in the office, Paul spends much of his time travelling around the North Island, as our North Island Sales Manager. He is our resident Ultrasonic Flow-metering expert. He also hails from the mother country (Bolton in fact) and came to New Zealand in 2002.

Alec Smith joined our team in 2008 and handles our South Island activities. He visits clients and provides advice on our products and services. Yet another import, Alec also hails from the UK.
