PROSOL is a privately owned New Zealand company. We have been operating since 1999, and have grown from just supplying valve and control components, to now being one of the larger supplier of Ultrasonic Flowmeters in this country, as well as developing our own
Telemetry Portal site.
Within the past 3 years, we have purchased 2 other small companies, which have enhanced and grown our own company.
AXIOM Data Logging Systems introduced us to a wide range of datalogging products, which we have incoporated into our own product range, and are finding these to be a major part of our business
We acquired Flexible Automation Ltd earlier this year, which has a range of PLC and automation products. At this time we have elected to keep this as a separate company - you can visit the website here www.flexibleautomation.co.nz.
As well as having a strong representation in the flowmetering and datalogging fields, PROSOL has a wide range of experience, and Agencies for valving, heat exchangers, controls, heat trace and many other industry fields.
One of our specialities is in the small projects field, in the past few years we have put together several systems. These are built from us listening to the clients requirements, then putting together the right components to meet the clients needs.

We have 2 established bases of operation, Our head office is just north of Albany, with a nice rural aspect. We also have a permanent sales rep working out of Christchurch, servicing the whole of the South Island.

We represent a range of internationally renowned agencies, and have forged a niche market in the field of ultrasonic flow-metering for irrigation and industrial applications.
In late 2005, after determining the need for an alternative flow-meter in the rapidly growing irrigation market, PROSOL worked with an international manufacturing company to develop a meter with some unique features for the New Zealand market. By the start of 2012, after
marketing this meter to Councils, commercial operators and end users, we had sold over 600 meters within the New Zealand market.
December 2007 saw further expansion of the PROSOL business with the purchase of another local business: AXIOM Data-logging Systems. This has enabled PROSOL to expand into the growing data-logging market, with some excellent agencies acquired.
The PROSOL team is made up of four full time staff.
The company is owned and managed by Mike Saunders, who has a degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering from Auckland University. His extensive experience includes working in various valving and instrumentation companies.
In 1999 Mike took the opportunity to utilise his experience and training and started his own company, working with several international agencies. Although he considers himself a New Zealander, Mike was born in the UK, emigrating to New Zealand when he was four years old.
Paul Abbey joined the company in 2004, bringing his valuable experience in the pneumatics and valving industry. In addition to working in the office, Paul spends much of his time travelling around the North Island, as our North Island Sales Manager. He is our resident Ultrasonic
Flow-metering expert. He also hails from the mother country (Bolton in fact) and came to New Zealand in 2002.
Alec Smith joined our team in 2008 and handles our South Island activities. He visits clients and provides advice on our products and services. Yet another import, Alec also hails from the UK.
John Bain is the latest addition to the team, he started at PROSOL in 2009, to look after the accounts, but since then has found himself becoming more and more involved in internal sales for the comapany.
