LineTracker Range -For direct monitoring of powe lines
The LineTracker series of overhead line recorders are the most versatile intelligent devices available. Utility Operators, Maintenance, Designers and Planning Engineers can easily monitor the condition and performance of high voltage grids remotely or on site. With the LineTrackers built-in wireless communications, users can download information without removing the untis from the line. Installed at strategic points such as T-junctions, switches, rural feeders and substations, information is stored for local download or remote communication to existing SCADA, Outage Management Systems or Distribution Management Systems.
The values recorded include:
- Load
- Maximum Demand
- Inrush Current
- Fault Waveforms
- Protection Operation and Timing
- Voltage Status
- Conductor and Ambient Temperature
- Power Factor & Phase Angle
The comprehensive data provides accurate fault detection and identification, especially when multiple faults occur. It also highlights potential weak areas, facilitating pre-emptive maintenance before outages occur. Many Utilities use these devices as portable troubleshooting tools and permanent installations with remote reporting at a fraction of the cost of SCADA RTU installations. The solar-charged and battery-powered LineTrackers solve many user applications such as:
- Improve reliability through instantaneous, accurate multiple fault detection
- Monitor peak loads, load profiles, load balance, etc. at key points of the network, optimizing load distribution and line capacity
- Verify breaker, re-closer and fuse operations, by accurately logging fault duration
- Log switching operations, time off, time on, etc. (from which all statistical SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, CAIFI, etc. figures can be determined)
- Log self clearing faults, preventing future faults through proactive maintenance
- Measure ambient and conductor temperature up to 138KV transmission lines
- Communicate via Cellular, Satellite, Radio, Ethernet and Landline. DNP3.0 compatible
